Dear Carol, You have modeled the importance of leadership and you have been generous and thoughtful. I thank you for:

• the morning blessing—how lovely and satiating it was each day to speak and sing our gratitude to the earth;

• the evening sharing circles—and your gentle insistence that no matter how hungry and tired we were, we needed first to reflect upon and integrate our day;

• the Cretan people you incorporated into the tour—allowing us to learn from and appreciate each other;

• riding up a mountain on the back of a farm truck—freeing us from any sense of lack of ability or pomp;

• encouraging us to dance and sing—two things many of us thought we couldn’t do;

• your wonderful, tender, and intelligent lectures and stories;

• your low-key determination that we could climb into caves and up to the tops of mountains;

• and finally, your knowledge and insights on the archaeological sites.

You personify how we can live our lives as women who love the earth and the Goddess. I have learned so much with you on this pilgrimage. I don’t want to say good-bye. Love, Margaret
